Paulo Gouveia e Silva is a lawyer and has been a member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 1970. At the end of the 80s, he founded the SMS Law Firm – which became the market leader in Madeira – later merging with Abreu Advogados, one of the largest leading law firms in Portugal. He is also Senior Partner of this firm.

Paulo is the founding lawyer of NEWCO, which was established as Newmadeira in 1990, and has since held the position of Co-managing Director. He is currently a NEWCO Partner and member of the International Association of Lawyers.
